In credit union talk, a share account is a savings account. Your credit union has many different share accounts to help you reach your savings goals.
Regular Share - Our regular share account is the key account to all your credit union transactions. It is a savings account that has dividends credited on a monthly basis. A minimum balance of $25 is required. You may withdraw your savings account six times every quarter without penalty. Just call, fax or email your withdrawal to us, and we'll get the funds out to you.
Certificates of Deposit
Certificates of Deposits from Automotive Aftermarket Employee Federal Credit Union are an excellent investment opportunity if you do not need immediate access to your funds and want to invest for longer periods to obtain a higher rate of return.
Certificates of Deposit (CD's) are term savings accounts that carry a higher rate of interest than a regular, simple savings account. Your credit union offers certificates of deposits with varying minimums and terms. CD's can provide a higher return on those funds that you know you will not be needing in the immediate future. Also, certificates can be used as collateral on share secured loans. So, by getting a higher rate on your savings, and paying a great rate for your loan, YOU get the best possible combination around. Share Draft (Checking) Accounts
A checking account from your credit union offers you the savings and convenience you want to manage your personal day-to-day finances.
Beginning in 1989, your credit union began offering its members share draft/checking accounts. There is no minimum balance requirement and no monthly maintenance fee on this type of account. Statements are provided on a monthly basis. Also, when you open a new share draft account, your first order of checks is free. In order to open a checking account with your credit unions, you must first open a savings account. funds may be transferred between checking and savings by several methods: telephone, email, fax or by using your home banking program. Our Debit Card Program uses your share draft account, also.
